Zim ILCA

The Zim USA ILCA is a high-performance, single-handed racing dinghy built for competitive sailors seeking precision, durability, and class-compliant excellence. Hand-crafted in Bristol, Rhode Island by ZIM Sailing, each hull is constructed with carefully measured resin-to-fiberglass ratios to ensure optimal stiffness, controlled weight, and long-term structural integrity.

Designed for club racing through international competition, the ZIM USA ILCA features a fiberglass hull, daggerboard configuration, aluminum or carbon spar options depending on configuration, and class-legal sail packages from Hyde or North. With a hull weight of 130 lbs and a length of 13'9", the ILCA delivers responsive handling, balanced sail power, and proven racecourse performance.

The ZIM USA ILCA is available in two configurations: Pro and Race.

The Pro configuration includes fully spliced Ronstan TecPro control systems, carbon upper mast section (standard), carbon lower mast section included in the ILCA 6 package, and a carbon fiber tiller with extension. Designed for elite-level competition, the Pro package reduces friction in control systems and maximizes efficiency under load.

The Race configuration features a complete Harken vang assembly, 8:1 Cunningham, 6:1 outhaul system, aluminum mast sections, and aluminum tiller with extension. It offers dependable, class-compliant performance ideal for competitive club sailors and developing racers.

Three rig sizes are available — ILCA 4, ILCA 6, and ILCA 7 — allowing sailors to match sail area to body weight and experience level.
