The Zim C420 is a high-performance double-handed racing dinghy designed for competitive sailing, training programs, and club fleets. Built for strength, speed, and long-term durability, the C420 is a proven platform used widely across junior programs and regattas. Manufactured in Bristol, Rhode Island by ZIM Sailing, this performance-driven dinghy combines advanced construction techniques with precision rigging systems to deliver consistent, race-ready handling.

Featuring a lightweight yet reinforced fiberglass hull, the Zim C420 utilizes strengthened resin systems and Plexus bonding to maximize durability without unnecessary weight. With a length of 13.9 feet, a beam of 5.5 feet, and a hull weight of 230 lbs, the boat delivers stability, responsiveness, and planing capability in a wide range of conditions.

The Zim C420 is available in three configurations: Club, Race, and Pro.

The Club configuration is designed for training programs and developing sailors, offering durability and reliable hardware for everyday sailing use.

The Race configuration enhances performance with upgraded rigging systems for improved handling and maneuverability, making it ideal for competitive sailors.

The Pro configuration is engineered for peak racing performance, featuring premium Harken hardware, auto ratchet spinnaker blocks, carbon fiber tiller extension, reinforced through-deck aluminum backing plates, and race-optimized sail controls for maximum speed and control.

With sail areas of 79.65 ft² (mainsail), 30.14 ft² (jib), and 95 ft² (spinnaker), the Zim C420 is designed to deliver balanced power, responsive trimming, and competitive acceleration on the racecourse.
