Wing Foiling Intro Lesson

At AFLOAT, we believe learning to wing foil should be safe, fun, and empowering. Our beginner lessons (one person) are designed to maximize your time on the water while building a solid foundation in the techniques and theory that make this sport so rewarding. Whether you're brand new to water sports or transitioning from windsurfing, kitesurfing, or paddleboarding, we tailor each lesson to your individual skill level, body type, and the day’s wind conditions using top-quality gear from leading brands like Duotone, Cabrinha, Lift, KT, and Tahe.

All lessons are a minimum of 2 hours and include:

• Full gear setup and safety briefing – Understand your equipment and how to handle it safely in wind and water.

• Dry land wing control – Learn how to maneuver the wing, steer with intention, and harness the wind before ever stepping onto the board.

• Wind theory & points of sail – Gain a working knowledge of wind angles, safe zones, and how to position yourself for efficient riding.

• Knee riding and balance drills – Master the “taxi” position by learning to ride on your knees in both directions, building comfort and control.

• Transitioning from knees to standing – Develop the right technique for standing up smoothly while maintaining wing control.

• Pre-foiling board skills – Learn how to ride the board flat, steer, and control speed and upwind angles before lifting off.

• Intro to foiling – Experience your first “touch and go” moments as you begin lifting onto the foil and get a taste of flight!

Throughout the lesson, our experienced instructors provide real-time feedback, tips, and encouragement to help you progress quickly and safely. We want every rider who comes through AFLOAT to leave with confidence, excitement, and the skills needed to continue wing foiling on their own.
